Best Higher End 7.62 NATO Piston Rifle

Greetings ODT. So, I am looking for advice on the best higher end 7.62 NATO piston driven rifle to purchase. I am looking for a 16” barrel option. I know that the KAC 7.62 is obviously the gold standard, but I don’t really want to pay the $6-7K price tag. I am looking for options other than the SCAR.

I have narrowed down my choices to the following options:

1: H&K MR 7.62 Heavy Barrel Model
2: LWRC REPR -Gen 2
3: LMT MARS H
4: SIG MCX Spear

I don’t have experience with any of the above. I know the HK takes only the HK magazines as opposed to the standard 7.62 magazines that can be used in the others. I know all of these are good choices, but I am finding it hard to decide on the best one.

The MARS H is a great option, especially if you're looking for a rifle that's built to last.

I'm in the market for the same thing right now. After doing some research, I'm probably going with a LMT. There's someone selling a 7.62 LMT on ODT right now but unfortunately it's the DI version. I have a 5.56 MARS-L DI and the build quality is amazing. The monolithic rail is so sturdy plus the easy barrel swap is a big plus for me. I'm looking for a piston version now that I will probably SBR. Finding the 12 inch piston barrels in stock right now is difficult.

I'm an admitted HK fanboy - I own a dozen of their handguns and quality is second to none. I'm sure the MR762 is a great weapon. But I don't want to deal with all the proprietary crap.

If I don't end up going with LMT, it would probably be LWRC for many of the same reasons as LMT.

I'll wait until they come out with a $20,000 Gucci ar 10 clone before I give my opinion. But from experience I say fal because I put many thousands of rds thru one. Go to one of the fal matches they have and watch.
