I’ll keep it short and quick...I have an optic that requires a 100 yard zero, but won’t have access to a 100+ yard range for a little while. Best I’ve got is 25 right now, anyone know the hold for getting close to a 100z at 25 yards? I’ve tried to research it but finding about 6 different answers. I know it won’t be a true 100 yard zero, but at least close until I can confirm. Thanks dudes :thumb:

20” barrel shooting standard 55gr .223.

I used 55 grain American Eagle FMJ going 3240 FPS. You need to sight in .8 inch low at 25 to have a 100 yard zero.

Measure the distance from the sight height to the center of the bore. (Sight height over bore).
Multiply that by 0.75.
Sight in the rifle so the point of impact is this distance lower than point of aim.

That should give very close to "spot on" at 100 yards.

As noted previously by bowhtr1, for AR's or scoped rifles the sight offset can be significant.

ditto to what bwhntr said earlier.

Measure the distance from the center of your optic
to the center of the bore of your barrel underneath it.

You'll have to enter this measurement in the computer or app
to run the numbers and get both a 100 yard zero and a 25 yard "bullet below crosshairs by X.Y inches" figure.
