I have the same issue. I see that I can make one but I was hoping someone knows where I could find one locally?

Try CNCwarrior. I bought a set from them a while back. I dont seem them on their website but they may still have some. Those can be quite a PITA to find.

I fired a yugo with out one many times and never had a problem.

I know can take it out. Its only a lock designed to make sure you don't pop off the cover when its folded. Its not on any of the other AK I have ever owned. I just liked that idea of the lock.
