I have 2 alcoves in the basement I would love to use pallet slats on. Lot of work to do that though
Sawz all with a 12" blade makes light of that work. just cut between the slats and the supports. Never use a crow bar.

First wife worked at McDonell Douglas in South Bibb Co way back when. They had a whole fenced in lot of packing crates. So me and my stepfather used to get all kinds of good reusable wood from there. My brother built his one bedroom, 900 sq ft cabin using huge shipping crate pine boards probably 30 yrs ago.
Flooring, siding, and roof instead of using plywood/OSB.
Used conventional lumber to build the stick frame.
Still good as new...
Foreal'dough... nails ain't that much.I know they were all about time together and the outdoors, will even admit to having straightened out a nail in the past, but I'd gladly drop $20 on a box or two of nails.
And they can hold up to a thorough pounding. Seriously ONCE you get them started they're like diesel tractors. They keep on going and work the **** out of you.Big girls ride hard
