My grandfather passed on some swords he acquired.
im wondering if there is a professional to pull the tangs and see what family and how old they are.
there pretty nice, i love em to death and just need some clarification
i remember at the trade shows there was a gentleman that had many and was very fruitful in this department
but cant remember his name
any insight would be great

There should be a small dowel or peg in the hand grip. just push it out and the handle should slide right off. Often the makers name or other identifying clue is engraved in the tang. Take a high resolution photo of the tang and the blade lamination's and send them to one of several Japanese sword organizations for their help.
