Just took a snapshot of worldwide flight activity about 15 minutes ago. Interesting. Bear in mind, these all aren't passenger aircraft.

When they're not flying, they're parked, even when they're parked they have to be maintained. Sometimes flying them is cheaper than parking them, or they don't have a place to park them.

Interesting. So the flight tracker that OP posted shows a GPS on them when they're parked? That also makes sense on sometimes flying them being cheaper than parking them.

Something to think about too.. (keep in mind, I'm the furthest thing from a pilot)
These planes run virtually 365 days a year. If they ground the fleet for a week, two weeks, a month, etc., I'd imagine it could lead to failures and the need to test before they're made operational again?

Not sure, just a thought there.
