Got a wild turkey breast from my mother yesterday and put it on to boil/simmer about 0430 this morning. Just tried a piece and it is still tough, so cranked up the heat on it and going to let it boil longer. Now what to do w/ it? Soup or dumplin's? Anyone ever made turkey and dumplin's? Should I just throw in some canned veggies and make soup? Decisions. Decisions. Decisions.

Low heat and let it slow cook and fall apart.

Crockpots were made for that.

And do you even need to ask about dumplings? Doesn't get much better than that.

I know. I was trying to get away w/ being lazy. Opening cans of veggies is much easier than making dumplin's. Not nearly a messy either. I don't know how I manage to do it, but I get flour all over the place!!

Actually I just swiped it off the interwebs. I am always too busy/tired/pissed while camp cooking to take pi'chers of anything.

A stew and dumplings though is the simplist of food. Just whatever you got thrown in a pot with a layer of simple dough on top. (Unintentional rhythm stolen from generations of hobos and armies on the march.)
