Was in the rifle section and there are so many locked threads. Posting violations or spam?

It's typical...They bought they're let's say SKS for 100 dollars an they want 500.00 but you can't do it.

You must be young (as compared to me). It’s from an old commercial , tootsie pops - how many licks to get to the center of a tootsie pop? The world may never know.

I can only surmise that the poster of the item knows that there will be incoming flack

For the most part, yes, it's the user turning the comments off when they create the ad. We will disable comments on listings that attract negative comments or turn into discussions as well though.

What if the OP is a money paying member and he is having a discussion in his on thread?

You try to control what someone else can post too. I know you asked me not to post the baby boy but just like pricing my items for sale, I don't like others telling me how to, and how much, or what to post, if I am not breaking any rules.
