Why are flippers so hurt by criticism?

As has been mentioned 1000 times, it drives the prices on ODT up in general... People do a quick search to see what they should price their Glock at, and they are all at $700-$900 so they assume that's what they "go for these days" and list the same. It becomes a self fulfilling prophecy and just keeps inflating the pricing more and more, and there is just no need to do that... Everyone is treating this like its the new "gold rush" and they are gonna make their fortunes flipping guns illegally here, GB and AL, and I just don't see how that is a GOOD thing.

Taking the legality of selling guns as a source of income without an FFL and setting that aside... should people be ALLOWED to do it?

Yes. Nobody that I have seen has called for anyone to make a rule against it, or prevent it. Nobody.

What has been said, is that it's annoying as **** and its a douchebag thing to do...

Nothing new my man. In the 80s when I used to go to gunshows with my dad 90% of the crap on the tables was over priced. 90% of the gunstores around Atlanta are overpriced. GON is and was overpriced, Arfcom EE is and was overpriced, gunbroker, and even the ODT since it's inception. Over priced items is nothing new, nor is flipping stuff.

You can get mad and call it out until you are blue in the face....not going to change.....ever.

The trick is, don't buy the things that are overpriced...makes finding a deal all the sweeter.

Gun prices have spiked in the past, they are spiking now, and will spike again in the future. You don't have to horrible situation for a spike to happen, or a political swing, it can happen because of a movie. The buying public, not sellers, drive the market up. The M29 44 mag built by S&W was a dismal failure. So much so, S&W decided to discontinue the model. Then the movie Dirty Harry came along and the M29 44 mag, was the most desired handgun in the market. Selling for double and triple what S&W had as a retail price. Gun prices across the board spiked during that period as well. What the buying public is willing to pay drives up prices. A seller can ask a higher than normal price, but unless someone buys, the market for that item stays the same. No one tries to educate the buyer, it is always the seller's fault. Unless and until the buying public decides that prices are too high, nothing will change.

I feel left out that this thread has run 33 pages and I have not yet participated.

The ODT Gun and Ammo Control Presidents feel entitled , obligated and well with their rights to try and bully , entice and shame people into not charging what they perceive to be high prices for the items they own. So what is the problem with The US Gun and Ammo Control President Biden telling you what you can and can't do with the guns and ammo you own ? ........Muh, Muh , Muh rights

We never said they can't ask what they want for their ammo.

We said they were assholes for doing it.

Difference.

See how freedom works? You are free to charge douchebag prices, and we are free to point out that you are charging douchebag prices.

Isn't freedom awesome?? Or, are you one of those folks that only think that YOUR freedoms are the ones that matter?

It's rhetorical, you don't need to answer that. We already know.

Bunch of *******.....If you really believed what you posted here you'd go over to the gougers' ads and post your whiny assed opinions therein.

I wish he would direct his misdirected socialist rants at Canton Chevrolet. They have a truck I want but they are trying to gouge me on the price. I need someone to go in there and teach them wrong from right! I just know they didn't pay that much for the truck to start with and all they are trying to do is make a profit off'n me. It just ain't damn fair! Damn truck flippers need to feel the heat also.
