Why a quick detach on a Vertical Grip?

I keep seeing this over and over and cant get my head around why there would be a need for a quick detach on a vert grip. Someone please explain.

They can peek all they want, I don't own an AR pistol.

There are folks that quick detach all the things.

For instance, if you’re using a 1x RDS that is co-witnessed, why do you need a QD mount for the optic? If the optic quits working, you use the irons while looking through the RDS.

QD mounts on magnified optics, as well. You’re better off buying a solid mount like the NF or BO and a torque wrench.
