Which cleaning kit do I buy?

So my cleaning kit that I've had for a few years is in desperate need of replacing. A lot of missing parts (thanks kids) that weren't that great in the first place.

What is a good universal cleaning kit that won't leave me in the poor house?

They are all terrible in my opinion. Buy dedicated brushes, rods, patches from Pro Shot (steel) /Tipton (composite fiber rods).

Ya I just mix and match. Been thinking about getting a Harbor Frt rolling tool box just for gun cleaning supplies.

I thought those kits were for hazing young, sleep-deprived soldiers.

My goodness. Reading Amazon reviews for products I have and like, I would be afraid to buy anything.

Here are some things I like to use:

Tipton one-piece cleaning rod with Tipton jags and bore brushes
Real Avid ZipWire kit for pistols (some people say they fall apart but mine works well for cleaning bores)
Nylon "teef" brushes
Wilson chamber brushes like the 1911-owning Fudd I am
Plane old CLP

'Bout like the D.I. giving you a half a toothbrush and telling you to scrub the latrine.....and you better be able to tell him EXACTLY how many whole tiles there are in the shower bay.

get a boresnake in each caliber, some good clp, some qtips, and a toothbrush. Use and old, soft T shirt for removing excess
