I don’t recant my statement on the Scout rifle in .308 for my go to long term bug out rifle as it’s what I currently have on hand best suited for the task, but a 22wmr canned or not as I personally haven’t gotten into suppressors yet and preferably magazine fed would be great for a lightweight bugout gun that could effectively take game from squirrel to deer and IMO be a one shot man stopper in MOST situations. I’ve taken plenty of hogs and squirrels with my 22WMR lever action.

My home brewed 14.7 inch exactly 16 inch pinned and welded 6.8spc ll. Red dot, BUIS, Vickers sling. The heart is a Wilson Combat barrel. Accuracy, knock down power and loud as hell.

Quality AR-15, 14.5" barrel, 1/7twist, mid-length gas, VLTOR A5 buffer system.

Lots of manufactures build that rifle, so take your preferred rollmarks, furniture and accessories, or build your own, but I think that's a pretty proven system. Light weight, accurate, user friendly, gonna be hard to beat in a SHTF situation as a do all rifle.

This perfectly describes my SOLGW M4. It is my choice for Rambo gun.
