what was your first car?

1964 Plymouth Valiant. I bought it for $50 (about a full weeks wage after taxes)
255 slant six power would push it from zero to 55 in a day or two, fill er up with oil and check the gas. Color was poop brown. Lots of rust in the floor and trunk and some dents (dont know exactly how someone dents battleship steel) with springs coming up through the seat. I used to go behind the grocery store every couple of weeks to get a new piece of cardboard to keep the seat springs from poking me, also duct taped some in the trunk to help keep the exhaust out.
It would carry 6 teenagers to the midnight movie easy enough and taught me that a raggedy ride beats a sporty walk.
The Duke boys had the General Lee... I had the General Custer
