What is your “go too” powder for pistol caliber rounds…and why?

My wife is concerned with the increase in packages coming for me instead of her...lol.
Look at her lovingly and say......

Find one that meters well and stick with it. I have been loading titegroup in 9 for a year or so and I know what the level looks like loaded. I eyeball each one and when it is different, you will notice. Doesn’t hurt to weigh every tenth one until you get confident.

for some reason me saying I eyeball them all made me think of mad eye from Harry Potter.

I use Alliant Sport Pistol and Shooters World Cleanshot for most of my handgun and PCC loading.

I don’t like Titegroup especially for the PCC… as the minimal charge weights barely fill the case, making it harder to visually verify a powder drop. I’m talking 2.8-2.9 grains for a competition load. It’s a-ok for handguns though.

CFE pistol I use occasionally for my open gun. It’s quite dirty and doesn’t get a full burn on lighter competition loads. So it’s a last resort for my 130pf uspsa stuff.

Always good to have load data for a variety of powders for when you can’t get your preferred powder.
