What have you reloaded today?

Dima Prok, he used to have an order form here.

I could give you his email in a message if you wanna check on the wait time..

Or I seen this, haven't emailed to see if price is current or his lead times..
Gotcha. Russian dude. His check maker is probably the best one I've seen. Better than PatMarlins and the Ebay guy.

25 .300 bo subs for testing out these 220gr Berry’s plated bullets. Using 1680, factory .300 bo sellier and bellot brass, cci #41.

So to start.. The 35 Whelen parts are rolling in. Pretty much just waiting on the X-Caliber barrel and I finally went ahead and ordered a Pacific tool & gauge "over-sized" spiral fluted bolt body. The parts pictured are all loosely fit to get a general idea. It is going to take some work for magazine fitment. I will need to cut/grind the lower part of the receiver's magazine well to accommodate box magazine feeding. Also need to cut the rear picatinny rail and drill/countersink the front rail, the two rails incorporate QD Sling attachments. I'm fitting the front rail as far forward on the chassis as possible and using the Sling Swivel stud hole as well as an M-LOK slot to really secure it for the sling and bipod. I know some people may give me $hit about the 'vertical grip", but that's the beauty of building your own right? I figure with a 31" barrel it's going to be rather unwieldy and it can also act as a barrier stop.. I also got longer screws to attach a ManFroto QD mount plate behind the grip for my tripod, so it will move the VFG forward. 3 - M-Lok screws backed up to a slot should make for a very solid and quick mount on the tripod. Way cheaper than any ARCA swiss mounts I've seen, $9 total.

It's currently pictured with the Wraith 4K 3-24x50 Day/Night optic. I'm not sure if I'm really going to use it on it, I might get something along the lines of a Primary Arms, SwampFox, or BlackHound 4-14x or 3-15x MOA hold overs.

I also found a seller on Fleabay who had like 30 - Real deal Accuracy International 0479's 300 WM 5rd mags.. I saved a few bucks by getting 4. They fit the MDT ORYX mag well like a glove @ 3.726" and offer a COAL of 3.647"!! They will require some slight adjustment to the feed lips to really secure 35 Whelen, however they'll be able to hold 6rd! Honestly some of the nicest magazines I've ever felt.

300 HAM'R 150gr vs. 35 Whelen 250gr. The 250 is just barely sitting in the case to demonstrate overall length possibility. I also got 850 of the Speer 250gr 35's, for a Smoking deal. I slept on the other 150 I seen and missed them. I almost feel bad to the people that are trying to get some to hunt with this year.. But I'm not going to wait until January and hope to find some. Right now ALL components at any quantity you can get them are fair game! Being that 35 is no where near being an "overbore" cartridge I should get awesome barrel life and really be able to shoot the crap out of it! And if/when I get bored of it I can re-barrel to something with way better B.C.s. With the Long Action and Crazy Long mag length, I'll be able to shoot whatever .25's, 6.5's, or .277's the long range accuracy Gods desire.

I finished up my 1,200ish boolits I had cast in my first session with my mold, prepped up (including a fresh trim) on 1,100 pieces of 300 HAM'R 3X Firing for these ones.

I loaded up 180 - @ 2 different COAL and 4 Different charge weights. + a bonus 22 @ the highest charge weight.

Using my Chargemaster's I quickly sorted out a bunch of boolits that fell between 144.8-145.3gr (.5gr variance) I did a 45° rotation on the sizing as well as the expanding, seating, and crimping.. It know it's nuts double strokin` every process.. But I ended up with the majority of them @ .005" or less on my Sinclair Concentricity gauge. I was trying to make "Precision" cast loads if such a thing exists :)

I came to the realization that PLANO doesn't really offer a Small Rifle Box. I seen Graf's had Berry's 100rd boxes for a very reasonable price. So I grabbed 10 of them.. But it didn't hit the $40 minimum, I ended up with a box of Speer Gold Dot 168 .308's :)

I also had a very bad experience with powder coat, I don't want to talk about it.. So I finally bit the bullet and ordered 15oz of some HI-TEK SUPER PERFORMANCE BULLET COATING! (Kryptek Green).. If anyone is interested in some Sherwin Williams Gloss Black powder Coat I'll gladly share, I think I have 8lb left. It works great, just too time consuming to get great results every time. I'm hoping the hi tek will speed things up.

And the results.. The extra steps honestly didn't seem to help much with performance.. I'm still more than happy with how they shoot.. I have still yet to check the hardness on the LEE tester. I'll check that today and see about upping the hardness and see if they'll grip the 1:13's better and tighten up groups.

All shot @ 50yd. both the same charge of 20.6gr of W296. COAL 2.235" & 2.242"

Same ole' 2 1/4" 8 of 10. Fliers are more than likely me :)

I wanted to see how they'd perform on jugs @ 50yd

Bullet Caught @ 50yd Gas Check in 2nd jug, Boolit + piece in 3rd. Estimated impact 2,100fps 1,420ft lbs. .726" 126.42gr (Largest mass) 130.5gr Total caught.

I've also been looking for an excuse to get a new chronograph.. So I started shooting @ it.. No steel safety blocker either :) Mainly to confirm a B.C. that this estimated.

25yd-2181 50yd-2101, 75yd-1992, 100yd-1873 QuickTarget Confirms B.C. .174

The coolest thing is that Sierra makes a 110gr Varminter bullet that QL says is .174, but they show .177, I suppose velocity depending.. Anyways I figure no need to ever try it out for 30¢ a bullet when I can cast mine for literally fractions of a ¢..

The velocity readings for B.C. confirmation were taken from my "Bonus" charge weights and this is the group they shot..

Fliers aside.. Now figure out if that's the damn COAL and Charge weight I'm after!

.38 Spl 158gr lswc over 3.7gr of W231.
I had to do some reading about that general load and boolit. The 158gr LSWC HP .38 Spl +P commonly known as the "FBI Load" certainly seems like the load you want. About what velocity will W231 get you in your barrel lengths?

Are the boolits Hornady 10428's? Or did you cast em' up yourself?

I've been trying to gather up some .357mag brass to load my nephew some for his wheel gun collection.. it's crazy what that stuff fetches today. I've seen 25-50¢ a piece for fired brass! I have maybe 2k .38 Spl, you got me thinking.. Maybe just spend the monies on a .358 HP mold! Running .38 Spl +P in a bigger Magnum frame would be easy to handle and even more effective.

These are the Hornady bullet, but are not +P. I’ll be shooting them through a 1946 S&W M&P that isn’t rated for +P.

I sized/decapped 200 .223 brass with my hand press while watching the NASCAR race. I still have a couple hundred in my bag. I’ll do those tomorrow.
