What do you rub on your butt?

I pick up a Boston butt today and it's been awhile since I smoked a butt. Currently soaking in beer and I'm looking for suggestions on how to season. I want to use what's in the spice drawer, I have a pretty good variety of both individual and ready made like Tony Chachere's. What do the ODT smokers have to suggest?

Make 2” incisions and inset Apple chunks on the outside of the Butt.

Make a center incision in the center of the meat from one end to another Or butterfly...

If butterflied, lay time , rosemary and your choice of rub.

When you go to cook it, put the meat back as you found it before butterflying and use cooking twine or string (typically white in nature) to hold everything.

Ensure your smoker has a tin cup with water in it in order to add moisture back to the meat.

Smoke to desired effect. Should be so juicy.

Not sure what you have on hand friend but I like to rub mine with spicy mustard then a light coating of Bad Byron’s Butt Rub on all sides. mesquite wood chips and lump coal in the BGE.

What Alleycat said. Bad Byron's is pretty good on everything. Sometimes I add about 1 part brown sugar to 3 parts BB for a bit of sweetness to pork BBQ.
