Imagine that......the Government not running something efficiently. I can't WAIT for some gool ol' national healthcare!!!
This is a sad fact that has been going on for years. I'm afraid it will be compounded by the electronic merging of active service and VA medical records that is about to take place, if it hasn't started already.

I have a surgery that never happened. I can show you the scar but there is no record. I have a friend who was told he "was never in Iraq".
Don't doubt it one bit. I've heard a lot of similair stories.

I heard a crazy story about Audie Murphy's file being lost and Congress being called.
I figured that was in a museum somewhere.
I'm sure they are and it was probably a misunderstanding. I wish I had the audio tape of some paper pusher in St Louis saying "We have no record of a 1LT Audie Murphy".
Half my unit had their records lost. The rest of us get letters once a year admitting we were gassed when we blew up stockpiles of shells. Gotta love the VA
they are definitely piss poor record keepers. Not as bad as some but I have had to take more than one series of shots over because of lost records.
