Bought a used SUV - Chevy. Options list says it has darker windows. It does. So supposed factory tint.

Car came from California. GA law says front side windows must allow 32% light in within 3% give or take.

Glass itself says 70% VLT, but I see film on it too. My truck has 70% glass on the front sides, and this is darker.

Question: how can I test to see what the actual light coming through might be? I much prefer not to get stopped by LEO to find out.

Thanks

You can go to a tint shop and they can test, or next time you see a cop, ask if they have a meter and ask them to check.

I test people's all the time. Most people that buy used vehicles with tint on them have no idea if their tint is too dark.
