stock looks to be refinished... hard to tell without more cartouche pics. Also, did you see a date and manufacturer on the barrel?

Not a terrible price if it is still the original barrel and the barrel is in good shape, but the rifle is not original. Originally the bolt and floorplate/trigger guard would have been blued.

Only cartouche marking I could find on the rifle. The barrel is something like 4-38, I think I have a picture.

It's pricey at $899.00, so I wanted a little advice before pulling the trigger so to say. I have done business with them for about 10 years, but I'm not sure how low he would go on the rifle.

If that stock hadn't been refinished at some point, I'd say $899 isn't horrible. $800 out the door would be okay on that example if the bore is mint.

Thanks for the Info. I'll let him know, and see how low he might go. It's a pricey for a non-matching example, that's for sure... 2nd question, what is a more desirable collectors rifle, a 1903 or a 03A3 rifle?
