Trade Only

This topic comes up all the time. I didn't understand "trade only" at first. My thought was that it's absurd to turn down cash for your gun, knowing that you can use that cash to find and buy the type of gun you really wanted--but that I didn't ever own and couldn't offer you in trade.
But so many posters say that the money gets spent on other things, or taken by wifey, that it's just better, safer, and gives more peace of mind to do trades. One deal, and it's over, and there's no loose cash around lingering for days, or weeks, where it might get lost, wasted, or spent on non-gun stuff.

couldn’t agree more. I like buying as well as selling. But something about trading.....

it’s like you got away with something.

Maybe the item they are looking for can’t be found in any store but they are hoping someone has one they will part with. If they sell it and still can’t find one, that itch hasn’t been scratched.

What, you can’t handle cash? I see guns that I’m interested in, and would be willing to make a cash offer.

But NO trade only. I don’t know about the rest of you, but I regret every gun I’ve ever let go of. I don’t

Want to get rid of a gun to get another , I just want another.

If you are willing to let it go you should be able to put a cash value on it, unless you’re just trying to get more then it’s worth.

Some people like the fun of trading, and in this day and age replacing a sold firearm can be a challenge.
