Topaz Hummingbird, the smallest bird in the world..........

Dingo I thought our Ruby-throated hummingbirds were small and when I saw this one I was interested to find out more about it. It's actually a fairly large hummer in the Amazon region. This pic is actually a paper bird created in layers and hand painted to appear to be three dimensional...but yes, I could see how it could be confused with something in OZ that sucked blood...or shot poison out its eyes...or flew in great flocks and laid waste to a kangaroo or wombat like locusts to a grain field or pirahnas to whatever they can catch...
