I made it up to Unicoi yesterday, Had the Chitlins and Wife with me. (we were goofing around in Helen) I scoped out Smith Creek and Unicoi lake. I will be back when it cools down. I think Smiths does a Delayed harvest in the fall. Real pretty up there. Oh and The Hooch is tiny on the headwaters. Looks like a creek almost.

I was fishin where he was and decided to go across to the other side. While fishing there I heard heavy flopping. So I paddled back over. Put on a fresh worm on a wacky rig a tossed it. Line went tight and o set the hook. Then he was swimming under the kayak I thought I was going to loose him. Managed to get him out and in the yak.

Looks like somebody knows how to rig a baitfish.

Only had one flathead last night but it was enough to get my fix for supper tonight. Straight cornmeal mixed with a hefty serving of my custom blended blackening seasoning. Fried a little on the crunchy side as my wife and daughter love them crispy. Made for a great Sunday night supper.

Caught 14 last night on jugs. Mostly blues with a couple channels and a really nice flathead
thrown in. Biggest blue and the flathead come off a small life bream. All else come off cut herring. Kept an experimental gar to eat. I hear the meat is very good and to my suprise it wasn't that hard to clean. Gonna have a good supper of fried belly meat, cheeks, and gar.
