F=MA, so there wasn't a huge difference in Kinetic energy between an average 1911 230gr round and an average .40 S&W 180gr.

Had an awesome S&W SD40 before VE's came out. Had it for 3 years during the ".40 sucks/not cool" era and sold it and got a G19. Haven't gone back. I wish I never sold it though.

The 40 caliber I’m here to say is a bad ass round. It a wonderful round that’s why almost ever law informace unit uses them the shoot flat and hit hard. That my experience especially the +p 140 grain super round.
