We didn't have rabbit ears, but we did have an outside antennae fastened on a one inch piece of pipe. A pipe wrench affixed to it so you could turn the antennae for really Fine Tuning when it got fuzzy. You had to holler real loud inside and outside the house to say "that's it.....don't turn it anymore" as there weren't any cell phones or walkie talkies back in those days.
