I don't think your missing anything. The pre-auction estimate was $700-$1100. I think 2 guys just got into a pi**ing match.

Unless that one was owned by Stalin or something, I think someone's ego got the best of them. Drunk bidding is no way to work an auction. Although, I do end up with more stuff that way! LOL
