Stripped the hex head on the threaded roll pin on my bolt catch. Aero M5.
I tried a ball tip Allen wrench, and tried a screw extractor. Neither worked and now it’s super-stripped. Any advice on getting this thing out? Not sure why they make these out of such soft metal. It stripped way too easily.
Thanks

Try tapping the bolt head with the ball end of a ball peen hammer to get the metal where the socket is to tighten up. Then get a soldering iron and heat up the bolt as best you could and screw it out. Good luck.

You could try a reverse threaded drill bit of appropriate size—you just want it to bite into the interior of the roll pin to try and twist it out—no drill, just vise grips.
