What is the best way to store Sodium Hypochlorite for water purification?
In something airtight?
Does it give off gas?
Is the gas corrosive?
Currently in original 1lb sealed bag.

I believe he means calcium hypochlorite if it is in a 1 lb bag. I store it in the original package inside a plastic container. Glass would be ok too, just don't use anything metal as it will cause it to corrode. I haven't seen any evidence of it giving off gas either.

I have kept calcium hypo from one pool season to the next and the plastic bags become brittle. I would not trust those bags to long term storage. I have kept a plastic bucket with tight fitting lids of bulk calcium hypo for the next season and it seems to be fine as long as the containter remains sealed. I use the empy plastic bucket around the pool and they last for 2 or 3 years before they crack. One would imagine if the containers are kept in cool dry area they would last longer.
