That is heart breaking. And is definitely something that I have thought about too when carrying off duty in normal clothes.
We often get so little information from dispatch, especially on rapidly evolving situations like that, that you often times arrive on scene with nothing to go off of other than the basics like “person shot” or “active shooter”. Or even worse if a witness thought the civilian hero in this incident was the active shooter and described him on the call. Just freaking awful.

another news story. This one does not say the other cops shot the good Samaritan only that he was killed after intervening on behalf the cops & confronting the bad guy.

I am 64 and have had a CCW since I was 18. About 12 years ago I came to r the conclusion that I will only defend myself and loved ones. I would hate to step in and safe a Democrat.
