Yeah I was thinking it's not too bad price for a pretty custom looking 1911 with the square trigger guard amongst other things. I located one for $1299 plus tax.

I'm pretty certain it would. I don't see proprietary 1911 mags being a thing unless it's caliber related like a Coonan.
