Somebody had a bad day!

I did. It was the brass. Even fully chambered, blew out at the bottom. Has enough energy to push the 230gr bullet out and the rest of the pressure went to the rear and down the magazine.

Damaged the bullets in the mag and the mag spring was toast.

Never seen a 45 acp blow out. Didn't think they run enough pressure to blow out like that. That brass must have been in real bad shape. Wonder if it had internal corrosion you couldn't see outside??

That must have been an unsupported chamber. Throated 1911?
