Somebody had a bad day!

This happened to me. It looks worst that it looks. I kept the bullets in the picture in the order that it was in the magazine.

The left was in the chamber. The other 3 were in the magazine

Were you able to determine what caused the problem?

I did. It was the brass. Even fully chambered, blew out at the bottom. Has enough energy to push the 230gr bullet out and the rest of the pressure went to the rear and down the magazine.

Damaged the bullets in the mag and the mag spring was toast.

Looks similar to these. Pics show ammo used which was factory ammo. Pretty sure it was just poorly made. Could've been the chamber dimensions or a piece of debris but after it blew the weapon in half we noticed that some rounds would chamber and some wouldn't

I never could commit to a folding KelTec . I wanted to. Not saying the gun had anything to do with it. I like some of their stuff.

I have had 1911 10mm blow out the somewhat like the OP but it was an unsupported chamber. Ruined the magazine spring, but nothing else. Have since milled the frame and installed a full supported ramped barrel in it. Had a 40 do the same in another gun but can't recall it doing any damage at all. The 10mm was a hot load for hunting in used brass. The 40 was just a target load in used brass.

I think both situations were a result of weak brass in a chamber that didn't fully support the case.
