I recently picked up a few buckets of spent cases from my local range. Must've gotten 3k or 4k 9mm cases. As I was sorting the brass, I found the little guy pictured below. Sure hope the shooter and gun involved are ok! Just a reminder to us reloaders that this can be a dangerous activity. Please be careful guys.

9mm in a 40s&w?
Looks like weapon fired while not fully in battery. Probably bad 9mm ammo that wouldn't fully seat in chamber

Not a 9mm in a 40 S&W chamber. That looks totally different. This is an out of battery discharge.

Looks similar to these. Pics show ammo used which was factory ammo. Pretty sure it was just poorly made. Could've been the chamber dimensions or a piece of debris but after it blew the weapon in half we noticed that some rounds would chamber and some wouldn't

It was a father and son and they were very fortunate. The son had just passed off to the father and dad fired the next round that blew out the side.
