So will it be manslaughter for Alec Baldwin?

He'll wander in the desert for a few years, outcast by his peers, and then make "a triumphant and brave comeback," to full throated cheers and applause from those same peers, at the Oscars.
More likely, he'll full-active, hard-pushing, I'm-the-victim, anti-gun-laws-to-keep-us-safe (as if he wasn't already). They'll proclaim him a hero.
We'll have a "Baldwin Bill" to go with the "Brady Bill".
He'll go on like nothing happened. (Unless lawsuits get traction.)

I asked the same question. But over the weekend I caught a YouTube vid by prop gun guy. He stated that in some instances the director will request a "Hero Bullet" which is bullet loaded into a case but with no powder or primer. These would be used in scenes using mostly revolvers where the front of the cylinder can be clearly seen along with each round in each chamber. In such a scenario they want the camera /audience to see those hollow points or round nose slugs pointing back at you.

Now I get that in principle. They're going for the most real accurate feel. But in this case and probably going forward it's just too damn risky. I know Hollywood people are WAY different but after the first ND on the set I would have told them either the wannabe armoror/should be porn slut goes or I go.
I can also see the need if you have a close-up scene of an actor loading a revolver (or magazine). You need something that looks "real".
Probably the most "real" scene would be one showing the rear of the case (with an un-struck primer).
And, of course, the rounds in a cowboy's belt.

It was a "low budget" movie, so I guess it's just cheaper (i.e. easier) to use real ammo for all that. Especially if you know nothing about firearms.

Yeah but it wouldn't be hard or expensive to get the armorer to get a reloader to load realistic looking dummy rounds. It would have to be a very low budget project for them to decide that was too much to spend.

This rabid libtard with severe TDS just managed to kill one and injure another person in New Mexico on a movie set with a prop gun. I guess being so anti gun rendered him completely ignorant to safe gun handling even with blank firing weapons.
They said today 500 rds. of ammo was found on set & halls (ad) that handed him the range gun was fired from a 2019 movie set for doing the same thing.

They said today a big bag of ammo was found on set & the da halls ad that handed him the range gun was fired from a 2019 movie set for doing the same thing. Sad She’s dead let’s move on & talk about how to stop mall shootings like in Boise & the dead heroes that ran unarmed towards him yesterday.
I had to read that like 4 times and I still don't get all of it.
