Females in the age range from puberty to near-adulthood are ALL controlled by peers, hormones, feelings and a myriad of other clockwork quasiquiddity mystery. The ONLY thing that gets them through it is aging beyond it and lord help the parent that has to live through it. Had to go through that with my daughter; now she has three of her own and all I can tell her is that "karma is a b!tch." She's got it in spades now...
