So last week I ended up with 2 SKS bayonets. So a buddy wanted on to put on his mosin carbine. Well it didn't fit. So with a little boredom and a dremel tool I changed it tonight where it would. First I had to open up the screw slot in the bayonet for the retaining screw to go in by about .15 of an inch. Next I had to open the part that goes over the barrel by .20 of an inch. And it worked. It does not line up 100% where it is suppose to lock back. However this really only an issue when not in use. Here are the pics and you can see what I am talking about.
