Not bourbon but sipping on some scotch tonight. First time trying something more than cheap Kentucky bourbon or regular ol whiskey. I have to say I feel more sophisticated now.

I went to a raffle Wednesday night, maybe 30 or 40 people showed up for a about 20 allocated bottles. Had a bottle of 10yr ORVW for $169 and the 12yr VW for $180. It was one of the best bourbon drops/raffles I’ve been to. I wasn’t lucky enough to get one of the top shelf bottles though.

I’ve been to a lot of drops, some I got there 24 hours in advance and still barely got top 5.

Honestly after acquiring and tasting the tip tops over the last few years, I’m happy with some good old Elijah Craig Barrel Proof or dare I say Jack Daniels SiB BP... yep those two right there will put some of the $40+ per ounce pours to shame!
