Shipping ammo

Can I ship ammo to a buddy in Illinois? He recently got a couple guns but is having a hard time finding ammo and I have a good stash.

Illinois has strict laws regarding ammunition. You must have a FOID card Firearm owners I.D. card to purchase ammunition. I would be very careful lest you run afoul of the leftist stazi.
My Step Father is a retired L.E. 32 years has his retirement badge still had to apply for a carry license and complete the State mandated safety course.

I've shipped ammo before thru UPS.
Box needs to be labeled correctly and dropped off at a UPS terminal...NOT a local store.
A form needs to be filled out.
And be sure to check the destination's state laws !!!

Forget about shipping to any of the commie states...

You can ship ammunition to Il. I bought it through via common carrier all the time when I lived in Chicago. Certain types of projectiles? No. But any ball ammo should be fine. He does need his State issued permission card to touch a bullet though.

Yes we grew up together there. I had a foid card in 74. Glad my dad moved us south in 76. I won't ever go back. Just trying to help him out.
