What is a good resource for information on the S&W revolvers below? My wife inherited these wheel guns and I am curious about their model history and provenance.

The full sized one looks old enough that it might not have a model number.
Before the mid-1950s, Smith & Wesson didn't use model numbers; they used names.
Names like "Chiefs Special" or "Hand Ejector."

It would be best to tell us the serial numbers which should be found on the metal of the bottom of the grip frame on each of these guns.
Online sources have charts and tables that can match a gun's serial number to a year of production, or a range of a few years.

If you're going to post the serial number online,
you could substitute a couple of X's for the last two digits for privacy / security reasons.
If the complete S/N is C28535,
you could just tell us it's C285XX.
