Schrade knives on sale

I had no idea Shcrade was now a Chinese company...figures

USA-made options

Not a Chinese company. Schrade is a brand owned by American Outdoor Brands (formerly Smith & Wesson). They manufacturer the Scrhrade brand (and a lot of others) overseas. Most categories of the outdoor / tool consumer products are done this way, so not sure why it would surprise anyone. If you want an inexpensive knife, it's pretty much the only option these days.

My old PH1 that I've carried for years. One of my favorites and sharp as a razor.

Can someone tell me why I am not able to sell about a dozen piece knife collection Japanese steel Schrade buck frost etc.
Is it because of the style. Because it’s not like a switch blade or something? Seems like the quality is better than what the ones in the catalog show.View attachment 3313454View attachment 3313459 View attachment 3313454View attachment 3313459

I think the current knife market mirrors the firearm market. No one likes blued steel and wood anymore, got to have everything tacticool with 21 round extendo clips. Same way with all these auto knives and tanto spears and other bladed stuff out there.

I like the product. To me a knife is a tool and I use it as such. Not to abuse it, but use it for what it was intended for. I've had nice looking knives, but if I don't use them I wind up selling it. I know people collect them. Same for guns. I've had some really nice ones and I shot them all including really nice collectors. I was taught to use everything to the last drop. My ancestors were very poor hard working farmers.

So I impulse bought one of the Schrades on sale. Thanks rbstern rbstern !!
Being a sucker for full tang fixed blades of the carbon steel variety, I opted for the Frontier Micarta Model on sale for $28.fiddy:

Tax was charged but shipping was free so right at $30 bucks delivered. Shipping was prompt and I had it in less than a week.

This little blade surprised me when I opened the box as it was thick and hefty. Dial Calipered just over .200" which is thicker than most larger fixed blades.
It looks pretty good even with the fake micarta scales and came sharpened with a nice edge.
Sheath is typical of todays fixed blades but adequate and it came with a little attached ferro rod.
Seems like a solid knife for $30.00 to your door.

I reviewed it on Schrades website so pics may look familiar !!
