Schools been out now for a couple of weeks and that means lots of good and free labor from several willing volunteers. Some by choice and some not.

I really appreciate it when my girls and all the neighbors kids get out of school and we get to spend more time with them. They lighten the mode and there seems to be more laughter. We have been working calves for almost a month now and it’s been a wet spring. I’ll never cuss a rain. My dad always said that we are 10 days away from a drought at anytime. Got absolutely soaked the last 3 calf workings and the kids never complained once. Does my heart good seeing the next generation wanting to do this work and spend time with us.

Awesome! I envy your lifestyle. Cattle is what me and the wife want to do for a living but land is just too much around here to have a big enough place to make a living out of it. :(

Good stuff! I had my daughters helping with my dog training business from the age of 8 and 10 respectively. One of their jobs was to walk certain dogs before they went to school. The few times there was some complaining I just told them to be glad they didn't live on a dairy farm.

They both are now adults with an outstanding work ethic.
