I just got my approval today for my sbr. I did the form one for a 11.5” 5.56. From what I’ve read I can change uppers whenever I want. Is that right? This is my first NFA item so I want to be certain!

I saw that too. When you say keep possession of the 11.5 upper, does that mean if I go to the range, or hunt with a different caliber upper, I need to have it with me?Yeah just remember you have to be able to convert it back to the approved configuration. Meaning kept possession of that 11.5 or any 11.5 upper but you can go shorter or longer

Understood. Thanks everyone for the help!Yes, you have to be able to readily be able to convert it back to the Form 1 specs.
You don't have to have it with you 24/7 though right? How many ATF agents are out there checking rifles...Yeah just remember you have to be able to convert it back to the approved configuration. Meaning kept possession of that 11.5 or any 11.5 upper but you can go shorter or longer
