I just looked up your reel. It's max drag if 40lbs, so 100lb line as anything other than a leader is a waste. If you have a lot of line out there will be some additional weight on the line, so go a little heavier. If I was you I'd get a 40lb rated Ugly Stick and load the reel with high quality 65lb braid.

Ok, thanks. The one place I go has produced 6 foot black tips and sometimes bigger. I have a big bait caster filled with 100lb braid, but can only take the line out far enough with the kayak. It does not cast good at all and it’s to be expected with that line.

Six foot is a big boy, but you might be surprised how much fish a 40lb set up can handle.
