Ruger sickness

I added me a new one to my collection today and I dropped it down into a short action skeleton stock I had sitting around!!!This is a ultralight model 7 mm 08 1 of 500.

Mines more of an allergy, comes n goes LOL
Sold my '70 Fingergroove 10/22 at a show.
Bought a '67 Ruger #1 at a shop. Still have older style LCP for pocket carry.
Minty 3 screw SBH at LGS.............tempting (last one I had sucked, proly why mint).

Lemme see what Rugers I've had over the yrs......

About 2 dozen, but only have 2 remaining.
A custom #1 and a .44 mag sporter my next two rigs.
If I get another .44 mag handgun, it'll be another Smith

The GM bbl in Titan stock 10/22 did .4 for 5 shots, repeatably at 50 yards w SK rifle match.
Was trying for sub half inch for under 500 bucks (not counting scope). Got a like new beech mannlicker and sold the stock, basically ended up w free action. No bolt work, and sub half inch.

Was heavy taper 19", didn't mind gap in bbl channel.
Gun was still a little heavy for a walk around and kill critters rig.
But what really irritated me was the grip. Fine for bench, el sucko for field.
I don't like the vertical grips.

Maybe because I shot a #1 growing up. Those feel wonderful to me.

Love me some finger groove :)

Yes, it is THE stock for a 10/22. Totally changes the feel.
The factory checkered one went bye bye, a little too nice. Volq hammer had it do .75" at 50 yards w junk CCI Blazer.
I got it right, sold to collector.

Found the beater '70 model and thought I'd gotten my hunter. But it would have needed bbl and bolt work, just shot like crap.

Bummed me out, but I broke even on it. Have a CZ455 that shoots good and needs nothing. Don't really target shoot anymore so one decent .22rf rifle is good enough.

Pops has a minty fingergroove .44 mag I shot a deer with yrs ago. Would have liked a nicer 10/22 fingergroove to have a matched pair LOL.

Microbuck shot at 150 w pops SRH .44 mag.
Came out around 60 yards and wouldn't stop til at corner of Jeep trail.
Had a Dew on way up, another in stand and for some reason, got antsy and got down and took a walk to the hardwoods. Standing there and this pops out. Was on hill looking down, sun shining on rack.
Knew it wasn't big, but didn't know it was THAT SMALL.

LOL

Worst ground shrinkage ever.

Gun loved 200gr XTP at full throttle on WW296. Trigger was OK, but gun heft/balance made it easy to shoot well.
Hated the Burris 1-4x so took it off, and then ended up with a long shot. Go figure.

3rd Dew was for photo opp. Pitch Black 2, was good stuff.
Not avail in my town, I bought a case from the little store halfway to my hunting spot.
Kept it in back of my Jeep

I might get a SRH for myself, but prices are running too high where I'm at.
