Restring Crossbow

OK gang, need some info from some more experienced than I. I bought a used crossbow two seasons ago. This is the first exposure I've had to archery stuff (bow or crossbow). My question is, how offer should you replace the string on one of these bad boys & approx. how much does it run? Thanks for the input.

I just replaced mine. Cost about 100. It was fraying because the plastic slide that keeps the strings from touching was missing. I used it 3 years frayed. I'm guessing normal use with good care will get you 5 plus years pretty easy.

Keep it waxed. Shoot it till it frays. Just like a bow string. Some guys replace every year. Ive had a cross bow 8 years still stooting same string no problem
