Remington 870 forward pin issue

Have a Remington 870. So, when both pins are in holding trigger group, the pump won't cycle. If I remove the smaller forward pinand leave the rear pin in, then it will cycle and fire. I have no idea why the pump won't cycle with the forward pin in. Any ideas?

Something is incorrect in assembly.

Have you had the trigger group apart?

There's your issue, in the trigger group itself.
