I am looking into re-barreling a Kimber 84M. it is a short action .338 federal.... I want to re-barrel it to .308

I picked it up cheap years ago due to the odd ball cal.

Any recommendations of who could do this local (in GA). don't want to ship it off. I live around the Dacula area.

thanks

Not so , get someone to reload some for you, nothing but a 308 necked up. Great caliber, better than 308 for hunting. Do you want to sell it?

I highly recommend American Precision Arms in Jefferson GA. (706) 367-8881

A whitetail ain’t gonna know the difference between a .338 Federal and a .308.

Not sure what to say on the re-barreling, but if I may offer a suggestion on the ammo.
Try talking to and making a simple request to some of your more reputable pawn shops.
A few years back I picked up a .338 federal at a pawn shop in Statesboro, GA for about $225 with a tasco scope & half a box of ammo. I just simply asked there and other shops in the area that if any .338 federal or 45-70 ammo came into their shops, that I would guarantee a fair sale. I've picked up a few boxes since that way and never overpaid.
Can't hurt to try, right?
