I was off the st Mary's River in southeast Georgia. No amenities at all. It's about a 20 min boat ride. It ended up raining qt night but managed to stay dry.

The hammock is a winners outfitter double hammock. Nothing too crazy but it works well

Looks like fun. I didn't see the hammock and I've had plenty of days laying on the ground. Did you have anything underneath you since the wind would tunnel right under you?

I have an ENO under quilt. It's works pretty well. It's synthetic thou and I'd like to get a down underquilt to save on space. With the underquilt and sleeping bag I have haven't noticed wind getting thru to me.

I used to sleep on the ground, but I always end up on my side and my hips hurting the next day. Even with a small ground pad. But now with the hammock I get a pretty decent night's sleep.
