I only met him a couple of times but he was always polite and welcoming to me. Some of the items in his store were...well...not politically correct. But I never had a negative experience with him. I'm sure I wouldn't agree with many of his views but I do remember the last experience that I had with him. I walked into his store and said hey "how are you doing?" He said "as long as I have my two 45s on me I'll be fine". Hard to argue with that logic

He would have been 91 later this year, so he really was a product of a different age.

When he was a child in the 1940s and early 1950s, there were hundreds of Civil War veterans still living.

Heck, the last Civil War veteran's widow finally died last year-- ending the U.S. Government's payment of those pension benefits related to Civil War service!
