I’ll probably get blasted for this but oh well. I know some of you have Facebook accounts and use Marketplace. There is a scam going around where a buyer contacts you via messenger and asks for your phone number so they can send you a 6 digit code to verify you are a real seller not a scammer. (Ironic huh) they are actually trying to set up a Google Voice account using your number. Google has a feature where you enter you phone number, then they send a code which you plug in to set the account up. These FB scammers want the code along with your phone number to set up a ghost account for themselves so they can go on and use another scam on unsuspected buyers and appear to be you to hide their identity.
