Primers....

I found load data for my 9mm..... One manual has the exact bullet weight, but uses Winchester WSP primers. The other manual has a load for a slightly lighter bullet, but uses CCI 500 primers (which I have.)

I know the primers are the same dimension, but are they truly interchangeable? I would think I could substitute the CCI 500 for the WSP, but would like to see if you guys know something different.

Don't start at max, work up, and with most powders that call for standard small pistol primers you're likely to detect little difference between them.

When using the "standard" non-magnum primer from recognized name brand manufacturers
over less-than-maximum loads, I have found very, very little difference

The only "real" difference I could find with standard handgun primers is some handguns have a bit of trouble setting some types off. I have issues with Wolf primers and specific guns (striker fired).

Otherwise it's the same S.O.P. as mentioned.

That is what I was thinking, but I am pretty new-so I thought I better check with some guys who have been around the block a few more times with this stuff.
